On Saturday November 9, CrossFit Frenzy hosted its second annual Throwdown event. With 120 competitors from across Kern County, Visalia, Tulare, Fresno and San Diego area. In addition to the classic CrossFit workouts, CF Frenzy wanted to make an impact in the health and fitness of local youth, to do so, they decided to donate the money raised at the event to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kern County.
“Promoting fitness at an early age promotes a lifetime of health and wellness,” says Angie Guijarro, CrossFit Frenzy owner. “Our future is our youth. Let’s have a healthier tomorrow!”
The event raised $2,598.44 for the Boys and Girls Clubs. Included a $500 donation from Bolthouse Farms. “We were honored to have the support we did for this event,” Angie said. “CrossFit is a growing sport and being able to share our passion in the form of a donation to Boys and Girls Clubs is special to us.”
Additionally, CrossFit Frenzy is excited to announce the launch of its CrossFit Kids program. CrossFit Kids will begin January 2014.
“CrossFit Frenzy Kids enhances fitness through functional movement and fun,” Angie Guijarro says. “Our classes are scaled for any child. We will develop and improve cardiovascular health, strength, power, stamina, speed, flexibility, balance, coordination and accuracy. All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under close supervision of a thoroughly trained CrossFit Kids Trainer.”
CrossFit Kids is recommended for kids ages 5-12. Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday, 4:00 p.m.-4:45 p.m., $48/per month.
